Every season the Battle Pass opens with 60 tiers of rewards. You earn Battle XP just by playing — questing, running dungeons, fighting in Battlegrounds — and each full bar of XP pushes you one tier higher. Everything on it is cosmetic: transmog, mounts, titles, pets and charms. Nothing on the Battle Pass makes your character stronger.
No sign-up, no activation — every character on your account earns toward the same track the moment a season is live. Quests, dungeon and raid bosses, PvP matches and daily & weekly challenges all award Battle XP.
Each full XP bar advances you one tier. Rewards sit at every tier — the rarest sets land near the top, at tier 60.
Open the Battle Pass panel in-game and collect anything you've unlocked. Claimed cosmetics are yours permanently, season or not.
Active for every account, automatically. Roughly a third of the tiers carry a free reward — a pet here, a title there, charms and transmog pieces throughout. You never pay anything to progress it.
Fills in the remaining reward slots — full transmog sets, the season mount and the tier-60 showcase piece. Same XP, same pace: it only changes what you collect, never how strong you are.
A single seasonal purchase — Coins earned in-game or a small donation. It covers your whole account for that season, and unlocking it partway through releases every premium reward you've already passed.
Season-themed armour sets, plus loose pieces — cloaks, shoulders, weapons — scattered across the lower tiers.
One flagship season mount on the premium track, with the occasional ground mount on the free side.
Cosmetic enchant glows and weapon effects that apply over whatever you're actually wielding.
A season title at a milestone tier and a rarer one for reaching tier 60.
Companion pets on both tracks — a couple free, the themed set on premium.
Cosmetic toys, portal charms and quality-of-life consumables — never gear or stat boosts.
Every completed quest pays out. Levelling naturally moves the track along without you thinking about it.
Boss kills grant XP, with a larger chunk for the first clear of each dungeon per day.
XP for every match, win or lose, with a first-win-of-the-day bonus on top.
A rotating set of objectives — "clear 3 Northrend dungeons", "win 5 Battlegrounds" — worth a full tier or more each.
The weekly world-boss kill is one of the largest single XP awards in the season.
Time offline builds a rested pool, so players who join a season late still climb quickly.
Long enough to finish at a relaxed pace, short enough that the rewards stay fresh.
Anything you claim stays in your collection forever. Only the track resets between seasons.
Unlock premium at any point in a season and every premium reward you've already passed unlocks retroactively.
No. Free and premium progress at the exact same speed and the premium rewards are cosmetic only — transmog, a mount, a title, pets. Nothing on the Battle Pass touches your character's power.
Never. Claimed cosmetics are permanent. When a new season starts, the tier counter resets to zero and a fresh set of rewards goes up.
No. Tiers only move with Battle XP earned in-game. The only thing you can purchase is the premium unlock, which changes which rewards you get, not your position on the track.
